The NSS Unit of D.A.V. College, Chandigarh, convened a purposeful Road Safety Awareness and Emergency Care Training Programme at the College Mini Auditorium, reaffirming its commitment to shaping socially responsible and vigilant citizens.
The initiative was conducted under the visionary stewardship of Dr. Mona Narang, Principal, D.A.V. College, and under the dedicated guidance of NSS Programme Officers — Dr. Kashma Sharma, Dr. Yogyata Pathania, Dr. Raghav Khanna, and Dr. Manminder Singh Anand. Organised in collaboration with Value Life Foundation, Suzuki Motorcycle India Pvt. Ltd., and Chandigarh Traffic Police, the programme sought to sensitise students to road safety norms while equipping them with vital emergency care and first-responder competencies.
The proceedings commenced with a formal welcome address by Dr. Mona Narang, Principal, D.A.V. College, Chandigarh, who received the distinguished guests — Mr. Shrish Ahuja, CEO, Value Life Foundation; Ms. Latika Chopra, Assistant Manager (CSR), Suzuki Motorcycle India Pvt. Ltd.; and Mr. Raghav Sharma, Senior Constable, Chandigarh Traffic Police. The deliberations echoed a powerful message: road safety is not a matter of convenience, but a shared civic obligation.
An enlightening session by Mr. Vikhyat Singh, Senior Manager, Value Life Foundation, deepened participants’ understanding of traffic regulations, accident prevention, and the ethos of responsible conduct on roads. This was followed by an intensive practical training module, where students were trained in CPR techniques, emergency care procedures, and the duties of a first responder, transforming awareness into actionable skill.
The programme culminated on an inspiring note, leaving an indelible impact on the participants. It stood as a meaningful stride towards cultivating a culture of safety consciousness and preparedness, empowering youth not merely to be road users, but responsible lifesavers.
