Hospital at Sri Goindwal Sahib Campus of Baba Farid University of Health Sciences to be built with cost of Rs. 15 crore: Dr. Verka

Punjab Cabinet Minister Dr. Raj Kumar Verka on Sunday inaugurated newly built hostel at Sri Goindwal Sahib campus of Baba Farid University of Health Sciences. On this occasion MLA Khadoor Sahib Ramanjeet Singh Sikki, Deputy Commissioner Tarn Taran Kulwant Singh, Vice Chancellor of Baba Farid University of Health Sciences Dr. Raj Bahadur, Principal Charanjeet Kaur and other distinguished personalities. During the function Dr. Verka said that on the demand of MLA Ramanjit Singh Sikki, we have decided to build a hospital in the campus with the cost of Rs. 15 crore and the construction would be commenced soon. He said that the newly built hostel will accommodate the students of far flung areas and they can be able to focus on their studies in congenial atmosphere at here.

GURDASPUR SUGAR MILL’s CAPACITY TO BE ENHANCED TO 5000 TCD FROM EXISTING 2000: CHARANJIT SINGH CHANNI

Punjab Chief Minister Charanjit Singh Channi on Saturday laid foundation stone to enhance the existing capacity from 2000 TCD to 5000 TCD in Cooperative Sugar MilL, Gurdaspur at a cost of Rs, 413.80 crore. After laying the foundation stone the Chief Minister addressing a gathering said that with increased capacity the Mill would crush daily 50,000 to 60,000 tons of sugarcane besides supplying 20mw power to state grid. He said that the project would be completed at a cost of Rs 413.80 crore including Rs. 369 crore is to be incurred on setup of plant,  machinery and civil works. Besides this, an ethanol plant of 120 KLPD capacity is also being established as the tenders were already floated, said the CM adding that with 5000 TCD capacity

MOGA POLICE FOILS BID OF GANGSTERS TO TAKE A CRIMINAL AWAY FROM POLICE CUSTODY

Punjab Police on Monday arrested two persons from outside the Moga District Court Complex for making an attempt to take a criminal away from the police custody. PUNJAB POLICE RECOVERS 55KG OPIUM FROM KARTARPUR; ONE HELD

Further intensifying its fight against drugs, Punjab Police on Tuesday have arrested a drug smuggler after recovering 55 Kg Opium from his possession during a special checking near Kartarpur in Jalandhar.
