DAV COLLEGE, SECTOR–10, CHANDIGARH GLORIOUSLY CLINCHES OVERALL FIRST RUNNER-UP TROPHY AT PU ZONAL YOUTH & HERITAGE FESTIVAL 2025.

In a spectacular display of talent, creativity, and cultural brilliance, DAV College, Chandigarh has once again reaffirmed its artistic legacy by bagging the Overall First Runner-Up Trophy at the 66th Panjab University Zonal Youth and Heritage Festival 2025.

Under the visionary leadership of Dr. Mona Narang (Principal), the inspiring mentorship of Dr. Purnima Sehgal (Dean, Cultural Activities), and the unwavering guidance of Prof. Surinder Kumar (Deputy Dean, Cultural Activities), the college ascended to glorious artistic heights, shining resplendently across the vibrant spectrum of culture, from the soulful strains of music and the expressive realm of theatre, to the creative finesse of fine arts, the eloquence of literary pursuits, and the rhythmic grace of folk traditions.

The Principal congratulated the students and faculty, lauding their unwavering dedication and two months of relentless preparation that culminated in this resounding victory.

The Music Department of DAV College, Chandigarh once again upheld its melodic legacy, sweeping top positions with captivating performances — securing First in Percussion, Group Bhajan (Team & Individual), and Group Song (Team), along with Second in Group Song (Individual), and Third in Indian Orchestra and Ghazal. In the Heritage Crafts & Traditions category, the college celebrated Punjab’s cultural richness with First prizes in Guddiya Patole, Peerhi Making, and Rassa Vattna, Second in Khiddo and Dasuti, and Third in Naala Making. The Fine Arts events radiated creativity, earning First in Collage Making, Second in Rangoli, and Third in On-the-Spot Painting, Installation, Cartooning, and Mehndi. Excellence in the Literary domain was marked by Second positions in Hindi and Punjabi Handwriting, and Third in Quiz. In Theatre and Performance Arts, DAVians enthralled audiences with First in Skit (Team) and Mimicry, Second in One Act Play, and Third in Mime and Skit (Individual).

The college’s vibrant Folk Dance teams showcased rhythm and spirit through Third positions in Giddha, Jhummer, and Bhangra (Teams), along with Second and Third prizes in Individual Folk Dance categories.
