UP: Toppers reveal their success mantra

June 28, 2020 03:46 AM

Prayagraj, June 27 ||  Prayagraj's technique of healthy mixture of balancing work and their passion. And though they may have various interests outside their field of study, there's one thing in common: toppers from the state, they have all managed to secure top ten ranks in UP Board High School examination. They are all shining stars aiming for a bright future. But they are different in their own ways. While some preferred studying hard others tried to create a balance between studies and playing outdoor games. But they have one thing in common...to remain in the top ten.

Shrishti from BBS Inter College, Shivkuti who has secured 94.16 per cent marks and stood eighth in the list ten rank holders of UP Board High School examination doesn't believe in last-minute cramming. "My preparation for ISC was from the beginning of the academic year," said Shristi who originally hails from Badohi but resides with her parents in Govindpur locality of Prayagraj, adding that she loves watching television, "something of a luxury during exam preparations". "My school teachers helped me a lot, but there is no alternative to hard work.... My parents were extremely supportive as they provided me with all facilities and created a conducive atmosphere to study hard," she added.

"She also added, "During examinations I had put in 10 hours of study everyday. I have solved a lot of test papers. The school notes were helpful and they were self sufficient. There were regular tests held in my school."

Like most science students, Shrishti wants to become an engineer from one of the IITs."I will pursue engineering in one of the IITs. My ideal choice is aeronautical engineering and computer science," said the student, whose favourite subjects are maths and physics."

A visibly overjoyed parent gives her all credit for the success. After the publication of results, constant calls from friends and relatives have made the life at her house uneasy and conversation impossible. "But it is such a fulfilling day. I have no complaints receiving all the phone calls which are pouring in to congratulate me," she said with a broad smile.

Naman of MRD College, Daulatpur Chivvaya, Prayagraj who also secured eighth rank in UP Board High School examination feels that concentrating is the key to success. "I studied with high concentration since engineering entrance examinations were also on my mind. I have not studied reference books much but concentrated on textbooks. I studied, on average, for six hours each day and increased the duration as the exams drew near," he said. He also dreams of getting into an IIT. "I would want to take up computer science. Everyone in the family is very happy. My parents, too, worked hard for my success," he added.

Gargi Yadav from BBS Inter College, Shivkuti who secured 564 marks (94 pc) in high school found her motivation from a picture of an Audi that her father had showed. "My dad told me that if I score well and go to a good college and have a brilliant career, I could then one day afford to buy an Audi myself.

That picture was my motivation to study whenever I felt lazy," she said. The picture came back to my mind and kept motivating me whenever I felt lazy." I am happy to have surpassed the score that I aimed for. I was never a bookworm," she added. But I tried to know the subjects and my teachers in the school helped me in achieving the score. During board examinations I studied four hours only."

Gargi is a champion sportsperson who flaunts a number of prizes and certificates in various co-curricular activities. Studies were never my priority. Now that I have brought such good results, my parents are overjoyed. They had high hopes and I could fulfill them. I would take a decision about my future only after talking to my parents. They would guide me ahead.

The teachers of Alka, a SP Inter College, Koraon, Prayagraj student, always expected her to fare brilliantly in UP Board high school and she stood upto the expectation by securing 10th rank across the state. "She would always complete her homework and ask a lot of questions. Alka is extremely hard-working and a brilliant student. She was extremely good in maths," said her class teacher. "There is no compensation for hard work," said Alka. "I have always studied consistently and did not burden myself with last-moment studies," she said. "I had prepared a routine which I followed without fail. There were teachers who helped me and my parents also guided me."

Her de-stress mantra is cooking. "I like cooking, which is a very exciting way to de-stress. I have learnt music and like Hindi literature. I want to become a doctor, so I have got myself enrolled in the science stream," she added.
