Chandigarh, March 2, 2026:
D.A.V. College, Sector 10, Chandigarh, culminated its Seven-Day and Night NSS Special Camp in an atmosphere resonant with spiritual ardour and patriotic enthusiasm, steadfastly anchored in the inspiring theme “Ek Bharat, Shrestha Bharat.” The camp stood as a vibrant testament to the institution’s unwavering commitment to community service and national integration.
The valedictory ceremony was adorned by the august presence of the distinguished Chief Guest, Sanjay Tandon, Former President, BJP, UT Chandigarh; the Guest of Honour, Nemi Chand, State Liaison Officer, NSS; and Jai Bhagwaan, NSS Regional Coordinator. Their gracious and dignified presence elevated the solemnity of the occasion, infusing the ceremony with inspiration, pride, and a renewed spirit of national commitment.
Addressing the spirited gathering of volunteers, Shri Sanjay Tandon lauded the National Service Scheme for cultivating leadership, resilience, patriotism, and a deep sense of civic responsibility among the youth. He underscored that such camps serve as fertile grounds where character is chiselled and national consciousness is awakened. Shri Nemi Chand Golia further exhorted the volunteers to regard the camp as a crucible of character formation, teamwork, and constructive social engagement, urging them to carry forward the ethos of service beyond the campus into the broader community.
Principal Dr. Mona Narang eloquently called upon the volunteers to steadfastly uphold the ideals of discipline, compassion, and selfless national service.
The programme was meticulously organised under the visionary leadership of Principal Dr. Mona Narang and ably coordinated by the NSS Programme Officers—Dr. Kashma Sharma, Dr. Yogyata, Dr. Raghav Khanna, and Dr. Manminder Singh Anand.
In his welcome address, Dr. Manminder Singh Anand highlighted the transformative power of NSS in shaping socially responsible, ethically grounded, and nation-conscious youth, capable of becoming torchbearers of positive change.
Awards and trophies were conferred upon the most outstanding NSS Volunteers, and the Best Unit Award was presented in recognition of exemplary performance and distinguished excellence in NSS activities.
The camp, through its diverse activities and community outreach initiatives, reaffirmed the institution’s resolute dedication to fostering social responsibility, strengthening national integration, and nurturing the enduring spirit of volunteerism—thereby contributing meaningfully to the larger mission of nation-building.
Sh. Sanjeev Verma, Harish Singh, Sh. Roop Narayan, and Sh.Vijay Sharma were also felicitated at the valedictory ceremony for their invaluable contributions to NSS.
